Samuel John Furness



Sam John Furness (tenor) began singing as a chorister at Llandaff Cathedral before attending Charterhouse school as a music scholar during which time he became a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and its chamber choir, “Laudibus”. In 2004 he won a choral scholarship to St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a BA in theology and then spent a year as a Lay Clerk, studying singing with David Lowe. He is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music.

Gareth John

Gareth (baritone) graduated in 2007 from St. John's College, Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar and is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Mark Wildman. His performances around the UK include the St. John and St.Matthew Passions, the Mozart, Haydn and Faure Requiems, the Schubert Masses and "Messiah" at St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

 
Elizabeth Adams

Elizabeth Adams (Soprano)

Elizabeth Adams(soprano) is 20 years old and currently a second year student at Durham University, where she studies German and Music. She intends to attend music college to study singing afterwards. Having sung and played the violin since she was seven, she has since obtained grade 8 distinction in both. When she is at home, Elizabeth studies singing with Gaynor Rodway.

Marcus Farnsworth (baritone) began singing as a chorister at Southwell Cathedral and is currently studying on the opera course at the Royal Academy of Music.

Stuart Jackson

Stuart (tenor) graduated in 2008 from Christ Church, Oxford, where he was a Choral Scholar and is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Ryland Davies.. He has been the recipient of several singing prizes in 2010 and performed recitals in a variety of venues including Wigmore Hall as well as undertaking a number of operatic roles.

 
James Birchall

James Birchall (Bass)

James Birchall began his musical education as a chorister at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. He was then a music scholar at Winchester College and a choral scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge, where he studied with David Lowe. James is currently studying with George Gordon on the opera course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama following studies with Ryland Davies and Jonathan Papp at the Royal Academy of Music.

Stephen Clay



Stephen Clay (baritone) was born in Perth, Scotland, and studied music at Durham University. Originally an organist, Stephen was fortunate to have been taught singing by Peter Wilson of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. More recently his teacher has been London-based baritone Robert Rice.

Aric Prentice


Aric Prentice has been Director of Music in Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Minster School since January 2003. He began his musical training as a chorister in Durham Cathedral, moving to Trent College as a music scholar in 1985.  He went up as an instrumental exhibitioner to Jesus College, Cambridge, in 1990 where he read Music and Theology and in his final year sang as a choral scholar in St John's College Cambridge, recording and broadcasting extensively.

Stephen Burrows

Stephen Burrows (Counter-Tenor)

Stephen Burrows studied Music at Bristol University where he was both University Organ Scholar and a Choral Scholar in the Cathedral Choir.  He studies singing with Nicholas Clapton and has also been taught by Stephen Taylor, Ghislaine Morgan and Ashley Stafford.
